Initiative 892

The Kitsap Sun today has an article regarding Initiative 892 which would allow slot machines in non-tribal casinos and other places with a license for gambing.

I dunno. I don't like the way that gambling is becoming more prevalent in Washington State. The casinos large and small, have sprung up like weeds. There's a lot of money to be made in gambling and a lot of money flows through these casinos. And wherever you find a large concentration of money, you find people with bad intent. Organized crime, I am personally convinced, is an integral part of many (most?) casinos in the state. No, I don't have proof. But Nevada and New Jersey are prime examples.

The gambling industry, in my eyes, is just too sleazy. Tim Eyman is using the "free money" angle for property taxes to attract votes. It's not free; we'll pay for it sooner or later.
